will be proposed by the BASL/BLIC, OG-NFWO, Belgian Pancreatic Club, Joint Meeting Belgian Week, BSGIE, Belgian IBD Research Club, Small Bowel Group, BeSPGHAN, Nutrition (VVKVM-SBNC), BGDO, Radiological-pathological correlations.

| ACCREDITATION |
|
Certificates for accreditation will be provided at the end of each
1/2 day session (30 units) to the registered delegates who have
attended the respective sessions. CME credits will also be provided.

| LANGUAGES |
|
Dutch, French and English. English (British spelling) for abstracts,
slides and announcements. As proposed at the Steering Committee of
1995, Belgian Authors may present their original papers at the Joint
Meeting in their mother tongue.

| CALL FOR ABSTRACTS |
Authors are invited to send abstracts electronically as early as possible, before December 1st, 2010 (absolute deadline) and to choose either the “Joint Meeting” (clinical and basic research with clinical impact) OR the appropriate Research Group.
Joint Meeting oral and poster presentations will be selected by the Joint Meeting Selection Committee and presented on Thursday February 17 and Friday February 18, 2011. Research Groups’ presentations will be selected by the selection committee of each research group.
All abstracts will be scored anonymously from 0 to 10, on the basis of originality and scientific value, by each member of the selection committee . A member of the selection committee will not vote if he is author or co-author of the abstract. The Joint Meeting selection committee gathers experts in different fields of Gastroenterology. After scoring, the abstracts will be allocated into several categories, the highest scores being scheduled for the Plenary Session on Friday morning.
Awards:
- Joint Meeting sessions: 2 awards for the best oral presentations in Basic Research and in Clinical Research: awarded on Saturday.
- BASL session: 2 awards for the best Basic and Clinical presentation: awarded on Thursday noon.
- BGDO, Belgian IBD research club and the BeSPGHAN (pediatricians) will all grant 1 award on Saturday for the best presentation in their field.
- From 2011 more abstracts will be presented as posters. A Best Poster Award will also be granted on Saturday.
- The Brohee prize (every 2 years) will also be awarded on Saturday afternoon
An abstract submitted for the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in May 2010 or the United European Gastroenterology Week 2010 (UEGW) may be presented at the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology (“National Meeting”), following the rules of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the United European Gastroenterology Federation (UEGF).
The accepted abstracts (oral/poster) of the 23rd Belgian Week of Gastroenterology will be published in Acta Gastroenterologica Belgica (AGEB 2011, fasc1). If not accepted as oral or poster presentation, the abstract “read by title” will NOT be published anymore in AGEB.
